Järvenpää, Finland – Fiberwood, a Finnish wood technology firm, has been awarded a €3.1 million grant from the EU LIFE Programme to support the scale-up of its insulation materials made from wood industry by-products.
The funding is intended to help the company expand its pilot production capabilities and accelerate its presence across broader European markets. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the supply of sustainable insulation materials as the building sector moves toward fossil-free alternatives.
Fiberwood focuses on converting side streams from the wood and pulp industry into natural fiber-based insulation and packaging materials. These products are designed to reduce carbon emissions in construction and improve environmental performance across the lifecycle of buildings.
Currently, the company is working on the development and scale-up of its demonstration production line, targeting business customers across the Nordics and wider Europe.
The company is led by CEO Tage Johansson.
