Furno Materials, a company based in Mountain View, California, specializing in the development of modular cement plants, has announced an investment from O’Shaughnessy Ventures. The specific financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
This investment infusion aims to fuel Furno Materials’ expansion initiatives and broaden its market presence.
Established in 2020 by Gurinder Nagra, Furno is dedicated to constructing modular cement plants characterized by enhanced carbon efficiency, cost-effectiveness in construction, and reduced spatial requirements compared to conventional plants. Utilizing natural gas as opposed to coal, these modular plants emit lower levels of carbon dioxide while boasting improved heating and cooling capabilities.
The innovative design of Furno’s plants allows them to be housed within shipping containers, ensuring portability and minimal space utilization, making them particularly suitable for deployment in developing markets.
