Founded in 1998, Ferienwohnungen.de has been a key player in the market, offering approximately 7,000 apartments and holiday homes, with a monthly visitor count surpassing 450,000.
Historically, bookings on Ferienwohnungen.de were primarily handled through requests. However, with this acquisition, hosts will now have access to Holidu’s advanced software solutions and personalized services, including professional photography sessions. The integration will also result in an expanded range of accommodation options available for browsing and booking on the Ferienwohnungen.de website.
Johannes Siebers, co-founder and CEO of Holidu, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the company’s commitment to streamlining online booking processes for hosts. Thomas Frost, managing owner of Ferienwohnungen.de, echoed Siebers’ sentiments, highlighting the technological advantages and increased reach expected from the partnership.
Holidu, founded in 2014 by brothers Johannes and Michael Siebers, has been on a growth trajectory, culminating in a recent brand merger with its subsidiary, Bookiply. The merger aimed to enhance brand clarity and consolidate expertise and services under a unified brand name. With over 100 million users annually, Holidu operates as a leading booking portal for vacation rentals, providing both a platform for guests and a software solution for hosts to optimize bookings.
The acquisition of Ferienwohnungen.de aligns with Holidu’s strategic expansion plans, with hints from Siebers suggesting further acquisitions to fuel growth in the accommodations sector. Holidu’s previous acquisition of Spain-Holiday in October 2021 underscores its commitment to growth and innovation in the vacation rental industry.
The integration of Ferienwohnungen.de into Holidu will see the continuation of operations from its office near Flensburg, Germany, as part of the broader Holidu company, now boasting over 500 employees across Europe.
