Corporate travel, flying taxis, and hotel technology have been key areas of investment recently. This week, several travel startups in these sectors announced significant funding rounds, including a climate-friendly travel company. In total, five travel startups raised over $70 million.
LimoLane, a provider of chauffeur services for businesses, raised $38.2 million (€35 million) in a funding round led by Cherry Bay Capital Group. LimoLane offers services such as airport transfers, event transportation, and private travel, all managed through a software platform and app for booking, activity monitoring, and financial summaries. The Italy-based company operates in major cities worldwide, including New York City, Madrid, Berlin, and Dubai, and serves over 2,000 clients. The new funding will support organic growth and potential acquisitions.
Shanghai-based Volant Aviation Technology, developing an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, raised $13.8 million (100 million Chinese Yuan) in series A funding. Legend Capital led the round. The eVTOL, designed to carry up to four passengers, will use the funds for test flights and further R&D efforts.
The Hyoosik, a South Korean company offering a hotel property management system and owning the hotel brand The Rest, raised $11.5 million in series B funding. TS Frontier Proptech Fund led the round. The Hyoosik supports over 1,100 hotels, focusing on small- and medium-sized markets, and also provides hotel development and construction services.
London-based Byway, which specializes in flight-free travel packages, secured $6.5 million (£5 million) in an oversubscribed series A funding round. Heartcore Capital led the round, with participation from Eka Ventures and angel investors. Byway promotes sustainable travel by offering ground transportation-only packages across Europe. The funding will enhance technology, support hiring, and aid market expansion.
Centriti, an India-based platform for hospitality companies to order products, raised $719,000 (60 million Indian rupees) in a round led by Emergent India Ventures, with contributions from Alluvium Capital, Brigade Group, HOF, Venture Garage, CoralBay Ventures, and Atrium Angels. Centriti works with multiple vendors to streamline procurement for hotels, with products like gloves, cling wraps, and disposable containers. Their technology is utilized by 120 establishments, including Accor Group, Taj Hotels, and Oberoi Hotels.
