Robin AI, the AI-powered legal copilot, has successfully secured $26 million in Series B funding, bringing the company’s total funding to $43.6 million. Founded in 2019, the company utilizes generative AI to streamline contract drafting and negotiation processes, along with efficient extraction of information from extensive contract repositories through user-friendly search functionalities.
The legal copilot, accessible as a Microsoft Word add-in, boasts an impressive 85% reduction in contract review time. This efficiency enables legal teams in businesses to operate more swiftly, save costs, and allocate their time strategically.
Earlier this year, Robin AI became one of Anthropic’s launch partners for the release of Claude 2.1, Anthropic’s Large Language Model (LLM) dedicated to legal work. This model facilitates the analysis of lengthy and intricate legal documents with the ability to handle prompts of approximately 150,000 words.
Robin AI’s clientele includes notable names such as Pepsico, PwC, Yum! Brands, AlbaCore Capital Group, and BlueEarth Capital. CEO and Co-founder Richard Robinson expressed optimism about the future, stating, “We are building the AI platform for the legal sector – a service that deeply understands every aspect of the legal function. This investment will help us realize this vision.”
Leading the Series B funding round is Temasek, a global investment company based in Singapore. Other investors include QuantumLight, Plural, and AFG Partners. The funding will support Robin AI in expanding its US-based team, where three-quarters of its revenue is generated, and establishing an office in Singapore to tap into the Asia Pacific market. Additionally, the investment will contribute to the development of its AI and machine learning expert team.
