StruxHub Inc., a construction operations software company, has raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Brick and Mortar Ventures. The round also saw participation from FJ Labs, Holcim, and several angel investors.
StruxHub offers a comprehensive management platform designed to simplify construction project workflows. The platform helps general contractors coordinate material deliveries, manage construction schedules, and streamline worksite communication. Its delivery management feature aims to reduce onsite congestion and coordination delays by over 50% through efficient logistics planning.
Additionally, the platform facilitates short-term scheduling for field teams, centralizes construction site announcements, and improves the approval process for work permits. It is versatile enough to support projects ranging from high-rise buildings and office complexes to airports, hospitals, and data centers.
Co-founder and CEO Jeff Chen highlighted the industry’s ongoing reliance on manual tools such as whiteboards and spreadsheets. “Many field teams are dissatisfied with tools focused on data entry rather than practical solutions. StruxHub was designed to address these gaps,” he explained.
The concept for StruxHub originated during Chen’s time at Holcim, where he visited multiple construction sites as part of a digital innovation program. This experience, combined with insights from hundreds of construction professionals, led to the platform’s development.
Since spinning off from Holcim, StruxHub has gained traction, counting seven of the top 20 general contractors in the U.S. among its clients. In one field study, the platform reportedly reduced delivery coordination times by 83% on a high-rise construction project compared to a control site.
Alice Leung, Vice President at Brick and Mortar Ventures, noted the platform’s scalability as a key differentiator. “StruxHub’s leadership team has a deep understanding of the challenges faced on-site. Their geolocated mapping interface and integrated operations tools stand out in the industry,” she said.
Looking ahead, StruxHub plans to expand its presence across North America and explore select international markets. The company is also investigating additional use cases and project types.
Chief Product Officer Chris Schmidt emphasized StruxHub’s broader vision: “We aim to connect the fragmented construction supply chain by combining geolocated mapping, configurable workflows, and a unified data model.”
