Online travel platform Whimstay has recently partnered with global resort and timeshare firm, Wyndham, to enrich its offerings with over 30,000 resort rentals. This collaboration introduces a new array of premier vacation properties managed by esteemed brands such as Club Wyndham, WorldMark, Margaritaville Vacation Club, Rentyl Resorts, Stein Erickson, and The Gant.
In tandem with this expansion, Whimstay has witnessed a significant surge in bookings, marking a remarkable growth of over 350% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year. The genesis of this partnership traces back to 2020 when resort partners expressed interest in leveraging Whimstay’s services to bolster their booking rates. Following fruitful discussions, integration with Whimstay’s property management system commenced in 2023, with properties going live at the onset of 2024.
Whimstay’s CEO, David Weiss, articulated the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Whimstay was crafted precisely for this purpose. Our core mission has always revolved around addressing the gaps in the hospitality sector, facilitating property managers to fill last-minute vacancies, and empowering travelers with unmatched deals within a 30-day booking window.”
Distinguished by its diverse portfolio encompassing vacation rental homes, condos, cabins, villas, and now resorts across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, Whimstay collaborates with professional property managers to extend exclusive discounts on properties that might otherwise remain unoccupied. On average, guests save nearly 25% and over $200 per booking through Whimstay’s platform.
The company’s growth trajectory is further underscored by its recent equity financing round of $10 million in April. This capital infusion is directed towards augmenting the team, enhancing product development, and fortifying various aspects including search experience, guest engagement, dynamic pricing, guest flexibility, loyalty programs, fintech offerings, and conversion initiatives.
