Balcony, a New York-based property data infrastructure company, has raised $12.7 million in Seed funding led by Blockchange Ventures.
With this round, the company’s total funding has reached $14 million.
Balcony plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams. In addition, the company aims to accelerate the rollout of its platform across county and state government agencies in the United States.
The company, led by President Gregg Lester, develops digital infrastructure for property records in the U.S. Through partnerships with government agencies, Balcony provides its mTrace platform to help modernize and secure real estate data systems.
The platform supports organizations such as title insurers, mortgage lenders, and financial institutions by providing access to verified property record data.
Most recently, Balcony signed a five-year agreement with the Bergen County Clerk’s Office in New Jersey. Under the contract, the company will digitize nearly 370,000 property parcels through its platform. The portfolio represents an estimated $240 billion in real estate value.
