Circular Materials, an Italy-based company focused on industrial wastewater treatment and critical raw material recovery, has secured $13.5 million through a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) financing round.
The investment was backed by CDP Venture Capital, the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), EIT RawMaterials, 360 Capital, Corbites, and Lumar.
The company plans to use the funding to build its first large-scale industrial plants. In addition, it aims to advance research and development in metallurgical recovery technologies.
Besides that, Circular Materials will expand its engineering teams across Europe to support future growth and commercial deployment.
Founded in 2019, Circular Materials develops electrochemical technology that treats industrial wastewater while recovering valuable raw materials.
Its zero-liquid-discharge platform is designed to extract critical metals directly from wastewater streams. These include copper, nickel, zinc, and several precious metals.
The company, led by Founder and CEO Federico de Stefani, focuses on helping industries recover resources that would otherwise be lost while reducing wastewater discharge.
