The preconstruction stage of building projects is often marked by inefficiencies, fragmented processes, and costly misalignment. ConCntric, a California-based startup, is addressing this challenge with its AI-powered platform that integrates data, workflows, and teams into a single environment to support faster and more reliable decision-making.
Founder Steve Dell’Orto explained to TFN, “The construction industry faces a massive talent gap, with preconstruction talent in especially short supply, and yet the demands on projects have never been greater. Industry studies estimate that rework, inefficiencies, and misalignment can cost up to $250 billion in the $21 trillion Construction Industry, most of which can be solved with more focus in the preconstruction phase.”
He added, “ConCntric addresses this by equipping teams with a platform and Amplify, our agentic AI engine, that enables certainty in cost, schedule, and scope from the outset, reducing risk, compressing timelines, and empowering teams to do more with less.”
The company has secured $10 million in Series A funding, led by 53 Stations, to scale its platform and expand market reach.
Dell’Orto, who spent more than 26 years at Clark Construction, saw preconstruction challenges firsthand. He shared with TFN, “ConCntric was born from firsthand experience. Having spent decades in construction, I saw preconstruction’s enormous challenges, where the most critical project decisions are made, yet teams lacked the right tools.
The motivation was clear: to give builders a smarter, more integrated platform that eliminates inefficiencies and creates certainty of outcome. It was both a personal mission and a recognised industry need.”
The platform’s central feature is Amplify, described as the first agentic AI engine designed specifically for preconstruction. Dell’Orto explained, “Unlike point solutions, we bring together all the key workflows — scope, cost, schedule, risk — into a unified, collaborative environment. At the core is Amplify, our agentic AI engine. Amplify acts as a force multiplier, helping teams analyse options, anticipate risks, and generate insights in real time.
This not only accelerates decision-making but also reduces reliance on an already strained talent pool. What sets us apart is the combination of deep construction DNA with advanced technology, built by builders, for builders.”
Contractors across North America are already using ConCntric’s tools to improve collaboration, reduce delays, increase win rates, and gain more visibility into costs and risks.
With the new funding, ConCntric intends to expand Amplify’s capabilities and grow its customer success, product, engineering, and sales teams.
Dell’Orto concluded, “Our priority is scaling responsibly while maximising impact. Over the next three to five years, we will expand our platform, strengthen innovation through Amplify, and broaden our customer base. Our goal: set a new standard for how the industry operates: smarter, more efficient, and more collaborative.”
