DrizzleX, a California-based water intelligence technology company serving multifamily and commercial real estate owners, has raised $6.8 million in Series A-2 financing to expand its operations, improve manufacturing capabilities and strengthen integrations with property management software platforms.

Announced on October 20, 2026, the funding round was led by Israel Investment Fund Group, with participation from existing DrizzleX customers. These investors include property owners and operators who had already deployed the company's technology to control water consumption and reduce operating expenses.

The investment highlights growing interest in property technology solutions that help real estate owners identify waste, manage utility costs and improve net operating income (NOI).

How DrizzleX Helps Properties Detect Water Waste

DrizzleX develops patented micrometers that attach directly to individual plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs and household appliances. The devices measure water consumption at the fixture level, giving property managers visibility into usage patterns that traditional monitoring systems may miss.

Conventional water submetering can require plumbing modifications and substantial installation work. DrizzleX's devices are designed to be installed without cutting pipes, obtaining permits or performing calibration, according to the company.

DrizzleX reports that building maintenance personnel, company technicians or third-party installers can equip an apartment with its monitoring devices in approximately 15 minutes.

The hardware records water consumption every minute and operates independently of building electricity and Wi-Fi networks. The devices do not connect to property or tenant networks, and the company provides a 10-year guarantee covering the hardware and batteries.

This approach is intended to make fixture-level monitoring more accessible to multifamily and commercial properties, including buildings where conventional submetering would be difficult or expensive to implement.

Turning Water Consumption Data Into Operating Savings

The devices feed consumption measurements into DrizzleX's software platform, which analyzes usage patterns to identify potential leaks and excessive water consumption.

Instead of treating every unusual reading as equally important, the platform prioritizes potential problems according to their estimated financial impact. Significant leaks can trigger immediate notifications to property managers or maintenance teams, while less urgent issues can be consolidated into reports.

The system also helps verify whether maintenance work has resolved the original problem. After a repair, fixture-level measurements can show whether water flow has returned to normal.

This feedback loop is important for property operators because identifying a leak is only the first step. If repairs are incomplete or the underlying issue persists, the property may continue to incur unnecessary water expenses.

By tracking consumption before and after maintenance, DrizzleX aims to help operators identify recurring problems, reduce repeated inspections and make better-informed maintenance decisions.

Reported Water Savings and Property Value Impact

According to DrizzleX, properties using its technology have reduced water consumption by 20% to 40% or more. The company also reports that hardware and subscription costs are typically recovered within two to eight months, although actual results can vary by property.

One example cited by the company involves a Los Angeles-area portfolio with more than 2,000 units. After deploying the platform, the portfolio reportedly reduced water consumption by approximately 25%, generating nearly $1 million in operating savings.

These are company-reported results rather than independently verified performance figures, and outcomes may differ depending on property size, existing water usage, local utility rates and the nature of the leaks identified.

The potential financial impact extends beyond lower utility bills. In commercial real estate, recurring operating expenses can influence a property's valuation.

For example, at a 5% capitalization rate, a sustained reduction of $1 in annual operating expenses can theoretically translate into approximately $20 in additional property value, assuming other valuation factors remain unchanged.

"Owners don't buy water technology. They buy increased NOI," said Esther Altura, CEO and co-founder of DrizzleX. "Every wasted gallon has an address, and every dollar saved is worth twenty in the value of the asset."

The company's focus on measurable operating outcomes helps explain why existing property customers have also become investors.

Fixture-Level Data Could Change Tenant Water Billing

Beyond leak detection and consumption monitoring, DrizzleX offers a tenant billing capability for properties where local regulations and lease agreements permit usage-based charges.

By measuring consumption at individual fixtures throughout an apartment, property operators can calculate a unit's actual water usage rather than allocating costs using estimates or a building-wide master meter.

This capability could be particularly useful in multifamily buildings with shared water infrastructure. Installing conventional submeters for every unit can be expensive or technically challenging, limiting the ability of owners to measure consumption accurately.

Fixture-level monitoring offers an alternative approach, potentially giving operators more detailed information for managing water costs and supporting usage-based billing where legally permitted.

David Gershov, an existing DrizzleX customer who participated in the financing, has joined the company's board and become its largest investor.

"We installed DrizzleX to get water usage under control. We invested because of what it did to our NOI - and because we could see how few buildings have anything like it," Gershov said.

His participation illustrates how the company is attracting investment from property owners who have direct experience with the technology.

How DrizzleX Plans to Use the New Funding

DrizzleX plans to deploy the $6.8 million in new capital across several areas of its business.

Key priorities include expanding sales and go-to-market operations, improving hardware manufacturing processes and recruiting employees across important business functions.

The company also intends to strengthen its partner network through integrations with property management software platforms and relationships with plumbing service providers and utility billing companies.

These integrations could help DrizzleX fit more easily into existing property management workflows, making it simpler for owners and operators to incorporate water consumption data into maintenance, billing and financial management processes.

Further product development will focus on applications built around the fixture-level consumption data already collected by the company's monitoring network.

As property owners face pressure to manage operating expenses, technologies that connect physical building infrastructure with actionable data are becoming increasingly relevant. DrizzleX is targeting a specific part of that challenge by making water usage more visible, identifying potential waste and helping operators measure the results of repairs.

The Series A-2 financing provides the company with additional capital to expand its commercial reach and develop the infrastructure needed to serve more multifamily and commercial real estate customers.

For DrizzleX, the opportunity is not simply to detect leaks. It is to help property owners turn water management into a more measurable part of building operations and financial performance.
