Philadelphia-based construction technology startup Guthrie AI has raised $4 million in seed funding to strengthen its AI-powered estimating platform for the glazing industry.
The funding round was led by Chicago Ventures. Guthrie AI plans to use the capital to grow its engineering team and expand integrations with software commonly used by construction estimators. These include Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel.
The company said the investment will help accelerate product development and improve compatibility with existing construction workflows.
Most importantly, Guthrie AI aims to make its platform easier to integrate with the tools that estimating teams already use. As a result, contractors can manage bid preparation with fewer manual tasks.
Guthrie AI, co-founded by Tuneer De, develops AI-powered Virtual Bid Assistants (VBAs) for glazing contractors. The platform focuses on reducing the administrative work involved in preparing and submitting construction bids.
Instead of relying on manual processes, the system assists estimating teams by handling repetitive documentation and organizing project information.
The platform supports several stages of the bidding process.
For example, it organizes Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, manages Requests for Information (RFIs), and prepares proposal files in the required formats.
In addition, Guthrie AI connects directly with software such as Bluebeam, Outlook, and Excel. These integrations help transfer project data automatically between systems, reducing duplicate work.
By automating document formatting, data transfer, and quote follow-ups, Guthrie AI helps estimators complete bids more quickly.
According to the company, the platform can reduce bid turnaround times from weeks to days. Consequently, glazing contractors may be able to submit more bids without expanding their estimating teams.
