India#HomeRun funding

HomeRun, a quick commerce platform for construction and interior materials, has raised $12 million in a Series A+ funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. Existing investors Sorin Investments, Titan Capital, Sparrow Capital, and Consumer Collective by Atrium also participated in the round.

The latest investment comes just months after the company secured $6.6 million earlier this year.

Funding to support expansion and technology

HomeRun said it will use the fresh capital to expand into new markets. Additionally, the company plans to strengthen its supply chain, invest in technology, and broaden its product categories.

The platform provides construction and interior materials to contractors and homeowners. It aims to deliver orders within 60 minutes while offering competitive pricing and verified products.

Addressing supply chain challenges

India's construction material market has traditionally faced issues such as inconsistent supply, unclear pricing, material shortages, and project delays. HomeRun's platform is designed to simplify procurement by offering faster deliveries and a more reliable purchasing experience.

As a result, contractors and homeowners can source materials more efficiently for construction, renovation, and repair projects.

Business growth

According to the company, HomeRun has become Bengaluru's largest retailer across its leading product categories. It also reported 8x growth over the past 12 months.

The company says its platform helps building material brands reach customers through a modern retail channel while improving procurement for contractors and homeowners.

Founder background

HomeRun was founded by Pukhraj Grewal, who has more than a decade of experience in construction, contracting, and operations.

Before launching HomeRun, Grewal co-founded Tornado, a technology-enabled interior contracting startup, and Project Hero, a construction labour hiring platform.

Founder comments

Commenting on the funding, Pukhraj Grewal, Founder and CEO of HomeRun, said the construction material procurement market in India has remained fragmented for years. He added that the company is focused on making the buying process faster, more transparent, and dependable. Grewal said the new investment will support HomeRun's expansion into additional cities and strengthen its building materials platform.

Investor perspective

Anand Datta, Partner at Nexus Venture Partners, said the firm's investment thesis focuses on modernising local supply chains while preserving the advantages of neighbourhood merchants.

He noted that building materials remain one of the sectors where digitisation is still limited. Datta added that Nexus believes HomeRun has built a strong operating model backed by healthy unit economics and an experienced founding team with first-hand knowledge of the industry's challenges.
