LightYX, an Israel-based construction technology company, has raised $11 million in Series A funding to expand its laser-based construction layout system. The round was led by NOVA by Saint-Gobain, the venture arm of Saint-Gobain, with participation from Yachad Capital Partners, Shibumi International, Somersault Ventures, and several private investors from the real estate and construction sectors. Since its founding, the company has also received $3.3 million in grants from the Israel Innovation Authority to support product development.
The company has developed an electro-optical system that projects building layouts directly onto floors, ceilings, and walls with an accuracy of under two millimeters. Workers can use the projections to position walls, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and plumbing with fewer errors and reduced time spent on manual layout. The system can also scan and adjust plans in real time to match field conditions. LightYX holds multiple patents for this technology.
“Construction layout is still often done with chalk lines, tape measures, and paper drawings. We're replacing that with live, intelligent laser projection,” said Guy Ben-Romano, CEO and Co-Founder of LightYX. “This funding enables us to scale rapidly in the U.S. and Europe and transform how contractors work on-site.”
LightYX reports that its system has been used in several hundred projects, covering more than 25 million square feet of layouts. The company currently works with dozens of U.S. contractors and subcontractors, particularly in drywall and MEP installation, and has distribution partnerships in place.
The new capital will be directed toward U.S. market growth, continued product development, and expanding customer and partner networks in both the U.S. and Europe. LightYX projects revenue of $2.5 million this year and aims for threefold growth in 2026.
Tomer Elran, GM of U.S. Operations and Co-Founder, noted: “We've seen tremendous traction with top-tier general contractors in the U.S. Our goal is to become the default standard for on-site construction layout, bringing precision and productivity to construction sites.”
The company’s solution combines optical engineering, AI-based plan recognition, and real-time vision. According to Uri Yehuday, CTO and Co-Founder, this integration allows the system to “understand construction logic” and deliver field-ready hardware and software.
Backing from Saint-Gobain underscores industry confidence. Pierre-Emmanuel Thiard, CEO of Saint-Gobain Ecophon and board member of LightYX, said: “Saint-Gobain invests in technologies that shape the future of building. LightYX is solving a fundamental productivity challenge with a simple, elegant, and scalable solution.”
LightYX develops laser projection systems designed to simplify construction layout through speed, precision, and adaptability. The company’s stated mission is to bring digital accuracy to jobsites and provide workers with real-time, intuitive layout guidance.
