Planera, a San Jose-based company that provides visual scheduling solutions for the construction industry, has raised $8 million in a new funding round.
The round included participation from Sorenson Capital, Sierra Ventures, Prudence, Brick and Mortar Ventures, Zachry Construction Corporation, and several construction industry executives.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand adoption of its platform among contractors and subcontractors involved in data center construction projects.
Led by CEO Nitin Bhandari, Planera offers a visual, CPM-based construction scheduling platform designed to streamline project planning and management. To strengthen its data center focus, the company has set up a dedicated service team with deep domain expertise to support clients in this segment.
Planera has also developed AI-driven tools to help construction teams identify potential delays early and uncover opportunities to accelerate timelines.
Its platform is used by several major industry players, including Balfour Beatty, Barton Malow, Big-D Construction, HITT Contracting, Ryan Companies, Skanska, and Zachry Construction.
The latest investment follows Planera’s Series A round in 2024 and brings the company’s total funding to $26.5 million.
