PropUp has rolled out new features to its Inspection App, adding high-definition video inspections and time-stamped photos. The update is designed to help maintenance teams complete inspections faster and more accurately, cutting down on repeat visits and disputes.
The development was initiated after a request from Point Guard Management and moved from concept to launch in 31 days. The company said this reflects its focus on customer-led product improvements.
“We are constantly listening to our clients and building solutions they actually need,” said William Gottfried, CEO of PropUp. “This Inspection App update is a perfect example of that commitment. With HD video capture and time-stamped photography, our users can dramatically increase the accuracy of their inspections, streamline move-ins and move-outs, and protect themselves from unreasonable disputes.”
With the update, users can capture high-definition videos of items in each area directly within the app’s inspection workflow. The tool helps speed up processes, especially during high-volume move-ins and move-outs, while adding a layer of accuracy that photos alone may not provide.
Key functions include:
Recording unlimited videos for move-outs, preventive maintenance, asset tracking, and incident reports.
Cutting inspection time from 30 minutes to about 3 minutes without losing detail.
Reducing technician re-visits by more than 50% by capturing clear, diagnostic-level information on the first attempt.
The app now also applies automatic time and date stamps to in-app photos. This helps operators confirm inspection timing, separate in-app documentation from external uploads, and resolve resident disputes with more confidence.
Features include:
Verifying inspection timing, location, and condition with accuracy.
Differentiating internal photos from manual uploads for transparency.
Backing dispute resolution with clear, data-driven evidence.
“We brought a real-world challenge to PropUp, and in just a month, they delivered a solution that will make a big impact across our portfolio,” said Tim Farha, President of Point Guard Management. “In my experience with software providers, this kind of responsiveness is rare and invaluable.”
PropUp provides a full maintenance and facilities suite that integrates with residential property management software. Its platform helps operators manage timelines, streamline maintenance, reduce vacancy loss, and improve accountability with customizable KPIs. The company was founded by operators with decades of experience in the multi-family housing sector and serves property managers and owner-operators across the United States and Canada.
