Vienna-based reebuild has raised €3 million in seed funding to expand its AI-powered back-office automation platform for the construction and real estate industries. The round was led by Fortino Ventures, with participation from Rise PropTech, CuriosityVC and existing investor Hansmann Family Office.
Founded in 2022, reebuild develops software that automates administrative and commercial processes for construction companies, contractors and property developers. Its platform uses artificial intelligence to process documents, match invoices with delivery notes and order confirmations, and support cost management and material tracking.
The company aims to replace manual paperwork, spreadsheets and fragmented administrative workflows with an AI-native operating system designed around the commercial operations of construction projects.
The new funding will support geographic expansion beyond Austria and Germany, the development of additional AI-powered modules, and team growth at its Vienna headquarters.
Fortino Ventures led the €3 million investment. The Ghent-based venture capital firm backs business-to-business AI and software companies across Europe through its third-generation venture fund.
Other participants included Rise PropTech and CuriosityVC, alongside existing investor Hansmann Family Office.
According to Fortino Ventures Partner Wouter Goossens, construction companies are increasingly ready to digitise and automate back-office operations using software-as-a-service and AI. He also highlighted the founding team's connections to the construction industry as a factor supporting its ability to address the sector's operational challenges.
For reebuild, the investment provides capital to expand its product offering, reach new geographic markets and develop a more comprehensive automation platform for construction businesses.
Construction and real estate companies handle large volumes of documents throughout a project's lifecycle. These include invoices, delivery notes, order confirmations and other records needed to track costs, materials and supplier transactions.
When these processes depend on spreadsheets, paper files and manual checks, administrative teams may spend considerable time comparing documents and resolving discrepancies.
reebuild aims to automate these workflows through a platform that reads incoming documents line by line. It can process PDFs, photographs, scans and electronic invoices, converting their contents into structured data that can be used by the business.
The platform automatically matches delivery notes, invoices and order confirmations. It also supports invoice review, cost management and material tracking, helping commercial teams organise information across construction projects.
The system is designed to learn progressively from decisions made by commercial managers. Over time, this feedback can help the software handle repetitive administrative work more efficiently.
The company also offers a mobile workflow for on-site teams. A foreman can photograph a delivery note using the mobile application, allowing the document to be incorporated into the company's digital system without relying on a separate manual paperwork process.
reebuild's broader ambition goes beyond digitising documents. The company wants to develop AI agents that can prepare work, identify recurring administrative tasks and recommend the next actions required to keep projects moving.
Under this approach, AI handles routine preparation and workflow coordination while human employees retain control over final approvals.
This distinction is particularly relevant in construction, where commercial decisions can affect project budgets, supplier payments and material procurement. Automating administrative preparation could reduce repetitive work while preserving human oversight of important decisions.
The company plans to develop new AI-native modules that cover more of the contractor's commercial workflow, from initial calculation and project estimation through to accounting.
Its long-term objective is to become an agentic back office for construction businesses, with AI agents independently managing routine tasks such as invoice processing, on-site documentation and project estimation.
The funding will help advance this transition from individual automation functions towards a more integrated operating system.
reebuild reports that its platform has processed more than €530 million in invoice volume across over 120 construction companies and property developers.
The company also reports that its software has:
Automatically processed more than 345,000 documents.
Supported more than 2,350 active users across its customer base.
Reached more than 8,200 construction sites and projects.
Reduced invoice handling time from over 20 minutes to approximately three minutes.
Helped customers reduce procurement costs by up to 20%, according to the company.
Its customer base includes Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Rödl & Herdegen and Kratzert Gruppe.
These figures indicate the scale at which reebuild says its platform is being used. Its reported reduction in invoice handling time is particularly relevant to companies managing large numbers of supplier transactions across multiple construction sites.
The procurement savings figure is a reported customer outcome rather than a guarantee that every business using the platform will achieve the same reduction.
Construction projects generate substantial amounts of operational and financial information. Commercial teams must coordinate supplier orders, deliveries, invoices, costs and approvals while keeping records aligned across departments and project locations.
When these processes remain dependent on manual administration, businesses can face delays, limited visibility into approvals and missed opportunities to capture early-payment discounts.
reebuild's approach focuses on connecting these workflows through a single AI-powered platform. By automatically matching documents and structuring information, the software aims to help businesses identify discrepancies sooner and reduce the administrative burden on project teams.
Its focus on construction and real estate also allows the platform to address workflows specific to these industries, rather than relying exclusively on general-purpose document automation software.
The challenge will be expanding this approach across different organisations and markets while ensuring the software can accommodate the operational requirements of contractors and property developers.
reebuild currently operates in Austria and Germany. The company plans to use its new funding to expand into additional geographic markets while continuing to develop its product.
Another priority is growing the team at its Vienna headquarters, where it currently employs approximately 25 people.
The company intends to introduce additional AI-native modules capable of automating more stages of commercial operations. This includes workflows connecting project calculations, documentation, procurement administration and accounting.
Rather than functioning as a standalone invoice-processing tool, reebuild wants to become a central platform through which construction companies manage their commercial back-office activities.
Its success will depend on how effectively it can integrate these workflows, demonstrate measurable operational improvements and expand its customer base beyond its existing markets.
reebuild was founded in 2022 by Alexander Kornell, CEO, and Matteo Cimadom, CRO. Luca Papay joined as a co-founder and CTO.
The founding team's connections to the construction industry inform the company's focus on practical administrative challenges faced by contractors and property developers.
With Fortino Ventures leading the latest seed round and Rise PropTech, CuriosityVC and Hansmann Family Office also participating, reebuild has secured funding to pursue its next stage of product and geographic expansion.
The company's ambition is to move from automating individual administrative tasks towards coordinating a contractor's commercial operations through AI agents.
Its €3 million seed round marks another step in that strategy. The next phase will test whether reebuild can scale its reported results across more customers and establish its AI-native platform as a core system for construction and real estate administration.
