The Moroccan real estate sector is undergoing gradual digital transformation. Yakeey, a proptech startup founded in 2023, is preparing to raise up to $7 million in its Series A funding round. The investment will come from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. It will support product improvements and expansion within Morocco. Yakeey was founded by Karim Beqqali, a real estate professional and the founder of Yamed Group. The platform functions as a digital marketplace for buying, selling, and renting homes. It aims to improve efficiency in an industry where delays and uncertainty are common. “The major problem we identified was the patent lack of trust of actors towards each other,” Beqqali explained in a previous interview. He developed the idea during the Covid-19 pandemic. The crisis highlighted how online systems could simplify communication and reduce stress in major transactions. For many, property deals in Morocco are often seen as “long, complex, opaque, and stressful.” The business model focuses on transparency. Yakeey offers a managed marketplace rather than a simple listings portal. Buyers, sellers, banks, and notaries can connect in one place. This approach helps align stakeholders and creates a clearer transaction process. Morocco’s property market continues to evolve as more digital tools enter the sector. IFC’s investment signals confidence in Yakeey’s strategy. Strengthened capital will help the company scale operations and improve customer experience. The Series A funding marks a step forward for Yakeey. The startup is positioning itself to contribute to a more accessible and trusted housing market in Morocco. —---------------------- If you are a proptech company and want to promote your products for free, go to proptechbuzz.com and submit your products.
