Skema, an Atlanta-based design platform for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals, has closed a strategic Seed funding round. The company did not disclose the funding amount.
The round was led by Robin Bienfait, a board member of Skema and CEO of Atlanta Tech Park and Emnovate. Several strategic industry partners also participated in the round.
Along with Robin Bienfait, the round included participation from several companies across the AEC ecosystem. These investors include Bear Label Consulting Engineers, Dar Ventures, Eastern Companies, Frischhertz Electric, Marnell Group, Newcomb & Boyd, SHoP Architects, STO Building Group, Syska Hennessy, Thornton Tomasetti, TLC Engineering, and Winter Construction.
In addition, venture and angel investors from AEC Angels and the Threadneedle Family Office joined the round.
Skema plans to use the new capital to expand its platform capabilities. The company will also strengthen integrations with existing AEC workflows, including Revit and Grasshopper.
Furthermore, the funding will support improvements in bi-directional data synchronization and version control. Skema also plans to accelerate platform adoption across the entire project lifecycle.

The company was founded by Charlie Cichetti. Its platform provides generative data intelligence and connects design information across multiple tools.
As a result, AEC teams can manage design data more efficiently and reduce information loss between systems. The platform also enables continuous coordination from early design concepts to Building Information Modeling (BIM) deliverables.
In addition, Skema supports model federation, version control, and bi-directional updates across tools such as Revit, Grasshopper, and other computational design platforms.
