Ghent-based construction technology company Spotable has raised €4 million in seed funding to further develop its platform and accelerate international expansion across Europe and the United States.
The round was arranged by investment broker The Harbour. Investors participating in the round include Jonas Dhaenens of team.blue, Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc, the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens, and Arne Vandendriessche, former CEO of Signpost and recently appointed CEO of Get Driven.
Founded in 2024 by Sebastien Vandendriessche, Julie Dumoulin and Pieter-Jan Philips, Spotable initially developed software for small roofing companies.
Vandendriessche serves as CEO, Dumoulin as CRO and Philips as CTO.
The company launched the first version of its platform three months after being founded and began selling it commercially about a year ago.
Spotable is focused on manual processes within construction, particularly measuring buildings and preparing project quotes.
According to the company, roofers can spend an average of eight hours per project measuring buildings and preparing quotes. Many construction quotes are still created using Excel, while tradespeople may also need to visit potential projects before determining whether they will ultimately win the work.
Spotable aims to reduce this manual effort through geographic data, artificial intelligence and digital building models.
The platform starts with a building's address.
Spotable uses geographic data and AI to digitally measure the structure and create a 3D representation. From there, the software can calculate quantities, connect materials with pricing information and generate quotes.
The platform is designed to support the workflow beyond quoting and through to ordering.
This approach gives contractors a digital process for estimating project requirements without relying entirely on manual measurements and spreadsheets.
Spotable has also expanded its platform beyond its initial roofing focus.
The company is building an ecosystem connecting contractors with distributors and building material manufacturers.
Contractors can use the platform to calculate material requirements and prepare quotes.
Distributors can integrate their product ranges and pricing into the platform, while manufacturers can make their products available during the decision-making process used by tradespeople.
This creates a broader construction software model around estimating, materials, pricing and ordering rather than focusing solely on quote generation.
The new €4 million seed round will be used to further develop Spotable's technology and accelerate international expansion.
The company has already grown in Belgium and the Netherlands and is now targeting larger European construction markets.
France and Germany are among the markets it plans to enter, with Spotable looking to onboard more construction companies while establishing partnerships with distributors and manufacturers.
The company sees these partnerships as an important part of expanding its construction technology platform beyond its existing markets.
Spotable is also expanding into the United States.
The company has already tested its technology at trade fairs and established its first commercial presence in the US.
The latest funding will support the company's efforts to build on that early presence while continuing its European expansion.
For Spotable, the international strategy combines software development with partnerships across the construction supply chain.
Spotable's development illustrates how construction software can move beyond individual workflows and connect different participants in the building materials ecosystem.
Its initial product focused on helping roofers measure buildings and prepare quotes. The platform has since expanded toward contractors, distributors and manufacturers, connecting project requirements with materials and pricing.
The company is now entering its next stage with €4 million in seed funding and plans to expand across major European construction markets and the US.
The key test for Spotable will be whether its AI-powered measuring and quoting workflow can scale across different construction markets while building the distributor and manufacturer partnerships needed for its broader platform.
