Spotlite, a Portugal-based spacetech company, has raised €3.5 million in seed funding to support its international expansion. The round was co-led by Índico Capital Partners and Explorer Investments.
Founded in 2017 by Ricardo Cabral and Martino Correia, the company provides a platform that transforms satellite information into infrastructure insights. Its tools are designed to help asset owners lower operational CapEx through predictive maintenance and remote auditing. Spotlite’s technology combines data from different satellite sources to monitor risks across large geographies without physical inspections or on-site sensors.
The platform delivers automated alerts that allow infrastructure managers to act before issues escalate. It tracks several risks, including landslides, ground and slope subsidence, vegetation encroachment, flooding, fire hazards, and third-party interference. According to the company, this approach helps organisations move from reactive operations to long-term, preventive strategies.
Spotlite began with a focus on transportation but now supports mining areas, energy networks, and buildings. Its goal is to make monitoring tools accessible to both public and private organisations of different sizes. By doing so, the company aims to extend the life of critical assets and strengthen resilience in environments exposed to increasing natural and operational challenges.
Spotlite CEO Ricardo Cabral said the investment marks an important moment for the company and Portugal's broader spacetech landscape.
