Stayflexi, a hotel management platform backed by Y-Combinator, has recently launched Bidflexi, a revolutionary hotel bidding app designed to streamline last-minute bookings. Venkatesh Sakamuri, Co-founder of Stayflexi, likened the app's usage to popular ride-hailing services, stating, "The process mirrors that of booking a car via Uber—simply place a bid and secure your stay."
Simplifying Last-Minute Stays
Bidflexi allows consumers to bid for hotel accommodations across three categories—luxury, premium, and budget—tailored to their preferences. Sakamuri emphasized Bidflexi's commitment to affordability, with prices guaranteed to be at least 50% cheaper than those offered directly through hotel websites. The app, available for both hoteliers and consumers, ensures significant cost savings, with discounts ranging from 30% to 40%.
Seamless Booking Experience
Currently accessible via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, Bidflexi is initially catering to travelers seeking accommodations in Bengaluru. However, expansion plans are underway to include major cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, San Francisco, and New York in the coming months.
Disrupting Traditional Hospitality
Founded in 2018, Stayflexi specializes in automating hotel and vacation rental management, optimizing revenue by capitalizing on unsold inventory and additional amenities. With $1.72 million in funding to date, as reported by Tracxn, Stayflexi aims to revolutionize the hospitality industry by leveraging data insights to address inefficiencies in hotel room utilization.
Transforming Travel Dynamics
Sakamuri, along with co-founders Preetam Shetty and Krishna Sasank Talasila, embarked on this venture in 2019-2020. By analyzing hotel data shared with Stayflexi, they identified a significant gap in the market—underutilized room inventory during specific time frames. Bidflexi's innovative bidding process connects consumers with hotels willing to offer substantial discounts, providing a win-win solution for both parties.
Capturing Market Potential
With India's travel market projected to reach $125 billion by 2027, according to Startup India, Bidflexi is poised to capitalize on evolving consumer preferences and emerging trends in the hospitality sector.
