Global#TerraFirma funding

TerraFirma has raised approximately $115 million, including a $100 million Series A round led by Kleiner Perkins. The funding, announced on July 14, 2026, will support the company's efforts to expand its construction technology platform for critical infrastructure projects while continuing long-term research for future space applications.

The company said the capital will be used to grow its engineering, manufacturing, operations, and construction teams as it scales its technology.

Kleiner Perkins Leads $100 Million Series A

Kleiner Perkins led TerraFirma's $100 million Series A round, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Glade Brook Capital Partners, BANNER VC, Saga Ventures, Trust Ventures, Definition, PEAK6, Magnetar Capital, and Ravelin Capital.

The funding round also included angel investors with experience at SpaceX, Anduril, Base Power, Shinkei, and Hadrian.

Although TerraFirma disclosed the total funding amount, it did not reveal its valuation or the financial contributions made by individual investors.

TerraFirma Develops AI-Powered Construction Systems

TerraFirma builds semi-autonomous heavy equipment designed for infrastructure construction. Its platform combines AI-enabled software, collaborative robotics, and human supervision to support excavation, grading, and other earthmoving activities.

Instead of relying on fully autonomous machines, the company follows a human-in-the-loop approach. This model allows operators to oversee equipment while automation handles repetitive tasks. According to the company, the approach aims to improve safety, reduce labor shortages, and increase construction efficiency.

While TerraFirma also references future applications for space infrastructure, its current focus remains on construction projects on Earth.

Founders Bring Engineering Experience

TerraFirma was founded by CEO Noah Schochet and CTO Noah McGuinness. According to the company, both founders have engineering backgrounds that include experience at SpaceX, along with academic ties to Princeton University.

The company says this experience has influenced its work on robotics, automation, and infrastructure construction technologies.

Texas Projects Demonstrate Early Deployments

Before raising its Series A funding, TerraFirma completed several commercial deployments in Texas.

The company carried out site excavation for a Starbucks project in North Austin during 2025. It also supported site preparation for the Zachary Cole Foundation retreat center in Taylor, Texas.

These projects demonstrate how TerraFirma's semi-autonomous equipment can be used for real-world earthworks and grading operations. However, the company has not shared performance metrics such as cost savings, productivity improvements, or project completion times.

Funding to Support Team Expansion

TerraFirma plans to use the new investment to expand its workforce across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and construction.

As demand for infrastructure modernization grows, companies developing automation technologies continue to attract investor interest. TerraFirma's latest funding reflects that trend while positioning the company to expand its construction platform.

The company has not announced additional project locations, revenue figures, or a timeline for future space-related initiatives.
