UK-based housebuilding company VASO Global has secured more than £5 million in funding to expand its manufacturing capabilities and accelerate the production of low-carbon modular homes.
The investment comes from PXN Ventures Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and Eco Group. The funding will support the company's efforts to develop alternative housing solutions while addressing growing demand for new homes across the UK.
VASO Global develops modular homes using construction panels made from recycled waste glass. The company combines digital design, integrated manufacturing, and semi-autonomous construction methods to build low-carbon residential and commercial buildings.
As a result, its approach aims to reduce construction emissions while improving the speed of housing delivery.
Most importantly, the fresh capital will help VASO Global enhance manufacturing processes at its newly established 60,000-square-foot production facility in Dumfries, Scotland.
The expanded facility is expected to strengthen the company's production capacity and support the wider rollout of its modular building technology.
Eddie Black, Co-founder and Managing Director of VASO Global, said the investment marks an important step in advancing the company's housing technology. He added that support from investors and research partners has helped move VASO Global closer to commercialising its products.
Black also acknowledged Professor Sean Smith from the University of Edinburgh for providing technical guidance through research supported by the UKRI Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings.
